Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
Childhood Play —> Internship—> Years of Dedicated Hard-work —> Glass Ceiling —> Self-EmploymentMy career started with an apprenticeship to a fashion photographer, which led me to work for a luxury lifestyle magazine. I moved for an internship with an award-winning design studio, worked hard to grow my skills and soon transitioned to full-time employment where I stayed for over a dozen years. My designs were instrumental in launching the overall brand standards for large hospitality chains such as Rosewood Hotels and Hyatt. I hit the glass ceiling of growth at that agency, so I became self-employed to further my career opportunities and diversify my creative abilities.

Q What are you working on right now?
Personally, spiritual and emotional growth. Professionally, a mix of websites, international hotel signage and lots of fun logo designs for individuals and start-ups.
Q What’s your style?
Variety is the spice of life! My touch bends toward sophisticated and refined, but I am most happy when I get to design in a diverse range of styles and expressions. Longevity over current trends. Timeless creations that withstand constantly shifting fads.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
Anything that has a positive impact, works toward solutions to difficult problems, or simply sparks joy. Sustainable, mindful, intelligent, and ethereal…I love explorations of the great mystery.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
Finding my people. Blowing bigger bubbles! As an introvert, I am not a great salesperson or networker.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
As early as possible: life won’t go the way you planned but will be rich in experience. Enjoy every moment and keep a growth mindset.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
Finding balance between success and spirit, consumerism and activism for the individual and communal, greater good.
